A Guide to Windows 7
One of our favourite sites, Lifehacker for tech tips and timesaving ideas and products has a new timely article called Lifehacker's Complete Guide to Windows 7 by Kevin Purdy wbich we recommend for those looking to buy a new PC.
Windows 7 is launching today.
The Guid is broken out into sections 'Buying, Installing and Upgrading', 'Our Take on Windows 7', 'New Features', 'The Taskbar', 'Jump lists', 'Built-in Applications', 'Themes Wallpapers and Login Screens', 'Mouse and Keyboard Shortcuts', 'Tweaks, Fixes and Customizations' and 'Third-Party Helpers'. Each section has multiple useful articles.
A great page to bookmark if you are either planning to upgrade to Windows 7 or buy a new PC with it installed.
Lifehacker have another useful Windows 7 article out on 10 Windows 7 Booster Apps for those with a desire to enable a few more features. I'm expecting more good things from Lifehacker on Windows 7 over the coming days, weeks and months.
Noted for English speakers in France: Ask your retailer if they sell English Language versions of Windows 7 (with QWERTY keyboards). If not, Only Windows 7 Ultimate has multilingual User Interface services built in allowing you to switch the language of the Operating System, important if you are purchasing within France.
